Replacing an outdated recreation system with a stunning new alternative.

Monterey Park, situated in Los Angeles County, California, is a culturally diverse city about 7 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and is home to 60,000 residents.

The Challenge

For a better part of a decade, the historic city of Monterey Park had been using an old, outdated, recreation platform that could no longer keep up with the changing needs of the community that required more modern access to their public services.

The Kaizen Approach

Kaizen started working with the City’s innovative and ambitious Parks & Recreation Director, Robert Aguirre and his team in October of 2022. Over the course of several months, it became clear that our organizations found synergies in our shared willingness to push the envelope of recreation technology and build something truly delightful for the residents of Monterey Park.
